The reason why Malawi does not develop is because the money is circulating among people of the same kind. They is a small percentage of people who owns a high percentage of the Malawi economy. Businesses and contracts are given to the same people. The poor are never given any chance to develop themselves. Nepotism is increasing each day, and just how do we expect to develop. The government officials have huge salaries and benefits and yet in hospitals we luck medicine, civil servants are paid low wages and we have few universities to accomodate the number of students. A high tax is charged on goods and salaries but we still luck a lot in our country. Its sad that even member of parliaments do not stay in their areas where they were voted, they decide to stay in their mansions in the capitals and so doing how do they expect to see the problems faced by the communities. Next time we say Malawi is a poor country, try to look at the government officials bank accounts.
