The recent arrest and detention of Chinese fishermen who poached - TopicsExpress

The recent arrest and detention of Chinese fishermen who poached and killed/captured around 500 sea turtles (pawikan) in Philippine waters should be used as a strong argument by the Philippine government against Chinas actions in the West Philippine Sea. The world should be warned of the ecological damage Chinese fishermen will cause if the Chinese continue domination of the area. Some endangered and protected species will soon be extinct if the Chinese continue to have their way. The Philippine government should use this incident as a rallying point to gather the support of international conservationists and environmentalists. This gathering of international support can be used as a springboard for the entire world to condemn Chinas apparent lack of concern for the environment, its looming abuse of the ecology, and its belligerence towards its peace-loving neighbors. The world should be warned of what other damage China can cause in the years to come if no one stops its expansion in the area. The damage China is causing and will cause in Asias ecology will definitely have frightening environmental implications on a much wider, global scale.
