The recent sunspot activity is now rotating out of sight. The large Active Region AR12109 has however developed an unusual feature - a bright spot at its centre. This morning the bright spot was visually very obvious but much more difficult to capture in an image. Nothing is visible in the photo at low magnification (f/3.3), but when I increased to f/10 the bright spot could just be made out (pasted into the upper left corner).
