The resilient Filipino. There are some things though before which we need to put our foot down and stand our ground, like corruption and dishonesty. It affects not just public officials but even the most ordinary citizen who finds oneself, in many day-to-day situations like the request for some public document or a permit, challenged to remain honest, or to give a bribe just to avoid a personal inconvenience. Complaints about public officials will fall short of fixing our country if we ourselves use our resilience to adapt ourselves to situations of dishonesty and corruption.
