The rising debt of our country will eventually bankrupt us, short of a major change in direction. It is very challenging to envision any political leaders having the fortitude to reverse the rising debt trend. You can watch it rise anytime at usdebtclock.org. It is popular and voter appealing to give everyone what they want, more services, lower taxes, more benefits. Eventually, all of us Americans will pay a terrible price for the lack of leadership coming out of Washington. Many people I know believe the national debt and deficit spending just dont matter, no doubt some of you reading this. This is not true, eventually, we will not be able to vote to borrow more and continue our reckless ways. On that day, our country will have no choice but to default, it will be decided for us, not by us. It is a far more manageable problem today than it will be then, lets hope the committee leads us away from that day of reckoning, we really need some leadership.
