The sad death (1987) of the last mainline through Xenia, Ohio. This was the old CR/PC/PRR that ran from Columbus, Ohio to Dayton, Ohio, at least what it was just prior to the downgrading and abandonment by Conrail. As I said, prior to this lines demise, the Springfield, Ohio and Cincinnati, Ohio lines have disappeared as have the B&O Wellston Subdivision, which will leave Xenia without ANY rail after this line gets removed. All of this track was removed in 87 and bike trails adorn this area. All photos in this series were taken in Feb. of 1987.
