The shocking truth about getting a known photographer. How do they get gigs even they take bad photographs? Well, over the last 10 or so years I have worked with the famous and neophyte photographers. Therere times when Im looking through their album and wondering how did this company get a gig with such bad pictures. Based on the output, I know I wouldnt hire/recommend the group. Then the other side of the story, are the iconic photographs from someone little known and new in the business. Wanna know why? Heres the revelation. Having said that theyre famous, they get an incredible number of bookings per day that their great photographers couldnt handle anymore. More so, believe me they will only send the great ones to the high end projects that they could use as part of their marketing strategy (politicians and celebrities). They are expensive of course! Next step is to hire many photographers (mix of pro and non pro) to make sure that all the gigs will be manned. Business as usual! Ending, the samples you saw on their exhibit and website are way far from their actual shots. I dont want to generalize but I know what pictures I would want. I dont want to handover my clients money to some bad shots. I guess thats just me though. Be wise ;)
