The state had now ratified what many of us have been saying for 3 years; the Wharton Administration is off balance and leading us down the wrong path. The State sent a new letter saying the City is broke. Wharton recommends raising taxes, firing 400 City workers, and cutting employee benefits. But at the same time he wants to spend millions on a skywalk for International Paper, gave millions to the Loebs to build a garage in Overton Square, and did not cut the salaries of top staff. Does this not sound strange to you? This whole process is way above his head and he needs to pick new staff. When he ran for office he said "Memphis is on the move". Well we are moving to the poor house.
