The stinging afternoon rays piercing his cheeks woke him up from the sweet slumber of a Christmas sleep-in. Habitually he looked to his side, his wife wasnt there. He got up and walked groggily down the long hallway to the living room. Merry Christmas, sweetness, he hugged the beautiful woman sitting at the dining table. Happiness in her eyes, she hugged him back, and gestured for him to sit. Honey, I know we had decided not to do gifts for each other this year, but I have a present for yu, she handed him a box wrapped in mint green paper and a white ribbon. Although this one was last minute, she smiled. He opened it suspiciously, thoughts about it being a prank crossed his mind. But inside was a simple egg, painted in blue with Polka Dots. An egg, really? he grinned. Crack it open, she smiled back. And that he did. Inside was a letter and a small rolled up chit. He kept the letter aside. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, he unrolled it. His eyes scanned, his mind feeding the curiosity with every word as he read. YOU ARE GOING TO BE A DADDY. He looked up, expressionless. Yu sure? I took three tests. Yu really sure? Im positive, no pun intended, she grinned. You joking? his face broke into the definition of happiness, and his arms went around her, and tears rivulated from her eyes for the first time since her bidaai. He had never made her cry. Its our Christmas miracle, he said, pulling her closer for a kiss. That it is, she whispered.
