The story goes, back around 1000 AD, the kings of Europe had too many knights getting into trouble, so they sent them off on the Crusades. Not that conquering the bloody heathens would be a BAD thing, but the real point was to give them a war to fight, and hopefully get rid of as many as possible. Is it possible that Putin has a similar problem?
