The strike at greyhound waste now enters a crucial stage and still the owner is trying to impose a 35% pay cut! The pickets for the last two weeks have started stopping the waste collection trucks and causing major disruption to the service. The owner has got an injunction against picketers stopping trucks from the courts but the picketers have ignored it, for to obey it would render the pickets useless. 9 workers are up in court this morning and may be sent to jail. The workers have said they will go to jail. If this happens all trade unionist will have to respond and we need to win this important dispute to defend wages everywhere and stop the race to the bottom. The strikers have called protest at 6.00pm today (Tuesday 9th Sept) at the Jim Larkin statue O’Connell st if any are jailed. please follow events today and try to attend and pass this on asap today.
