The strike of Windsor Palace Visitor Centre and Gift Shop staff continued today, meaning that potential new residents of Royal Berkshire have been unable to obtain the royal warrant needed to move permanently. Heads of state have had to reschedule trips, tourists cannot get visas, and so on. This is a potentially embarrassing and costly strike that in the long run will surely see some of the unique powers of the royal Gift Shop being given to other departments within the castle rather than risking such losses again. Meanwhile, the senior manager of the Visitor Centre and Gift Shop, Victor Loveguy, remains suspended from his position, pending an investigation over potential pilfering of some very nice House of Windsor commemorative plates and stationery from the store.
