The superb Matthew Shipp Trio played for over 2 hours for a full house at The Sanctuary for Independent Media recently. I got a chance to photograph the sound check on The Sanctuarys new stage with their Carnegie Hall-donated Baldwin grand piano. The Matthew Shipp Trio had once played in Troy at an exhibition at The Arts Center of the Capital Region where I had over 40 of my images featured. Taken at 12 of 13 concerts of the free jazz (a style) series performed in The Sanctuary for over a two year period, the images are now on display all above the entrance in the buildings back wall. albanyjazz/andrzejpilarczyk/matthewshipp-sanctuary.html
