The surf report has come out for today and I am afraid that many of the north shore beaches are closed to swimming and snorkeling due to the high surf. If you wish to get some great pictures of these huge waves, grab your camera and head that way, makes for some great photo opportunities! The south side is where you really want to be for some great snorkeling, Poipu, Lawai, and Salt Pond. Here is the surf report for today: Powerful Northwest swell in the 10-15 range with strong currents and potentially dangerous conditions. Some swell wrapping to East & West shores. Use caution around the ocean - even on shoreline areas. Light winds and sunny. Calmest on South facing shores. Always use caution - esp. when unfamiliar & help is a long way away. Recommended lifeguarded beaches: Kealia, Lydgate, Poipu, Salt Pond. Lifeguards have closed many North shore beaches. Outlook to Sat Nov 15: NW swell becoming much larger near warning levels Tues-Wed.
