The take away from this article is how horrible the cleveland police department is at hiring qualified people. The fact that Mayor Jackson and the other fringe lunatics keep calling the DOJ report a fiction is just embarassing at this point. They might have been able to get away with this years ago, but with social media and a building desire by a majority of people to reform the police departments... you cant avoid it. Note: This guy was hired by CPD in 2007. In 2005 he was arrested for violence against a woman. From CLEVELAND JAIL he called and threatened the woman... this would be a felony 3 (1 to 5 years in prison at the time). He was -recorded- threatening her. So.. CPD knew this guy was a violent thug, yet they hired him. Now were surprised hes charged with three instances of brutalizing a woman (along with his additional arrest/incidents between 2010 and now). Im not sure how anyone can defend this? At what point do we admit it is broken and start working to fix it so that both the good officers in these departments can thrive, and citizens are no longer put in danger?
