The text of Communiqué of the meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Igbo National Council (INC) held in Enugu on Sunday, June 29, 2014 The NWC of the Council critically analyzed the State of the Nation and unanimously agreed that challenges facing the Nigeria today are by-product of the age long unholy conspiracies against Ndigbo by the different ethnic groups and political blocs, as orchestrated by the various leaderships in the country. The Council also reiterated that the causes of the Nigeria’s problems are corruption, and ineptitude in leadership etc. In addition to the above, the Council therefore resolved as follows: On Second Niger Bridge Project: 1. The Council noted that the second Niger Bridge Project was award under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) terms of agreement, and that part of the agreement states that after the completion of the bridge, the consortium will install toll gates at the both ends of the bridge to collect tariff from commuters. The Council therefore states that this term of contract agreement is fraudulent, malicious, criminal and exploitative in nature. In view of the above, we call on the Federal Government of Nigeria to immediately review the contract of the second Niger Bridge Project or we shall mobilize the people to halt the project as it is a sign of further criminal exploitation against the Igbo Race in Nigeria. On National Security: 2. The Council looking critically on the State of the Nation and the impending danger of the continued attack, killings, bombing and wanton destruction of innocent lives and property by the Boko Haram terrorist sect, and their movement to expand their attack to other states in Nigeria more especially the South-East and South-South, therefore call on President Goodluck Jornathan to step action against the Boko Haram attacks, and also immediately redeploy all serving military officers from the rank of Captain and above in the case of Army, and its equivalent in Air Force and Navy, all State Directors, Deputy State Directors, Directors of Operations of the State Security Services (SSS), Deputy Inspector General’s (DIGs), Assistant Inspector General (AIGs), and all State Commissioners of Police as a measure to cocktail information leakage in the joint military operation to flush out Boko Haram. Consequent upon the above demands, if the President and the Nigeria Government treat the above demand with levity, the Igbo National Council (INC) we take serious political and legal actions to stop President Goodluck Jonathan from vying and winning in the 2015 Presidential Election. 3. The Council therefore ask Ndi-Igbo to be very vigilant where ever they reside in Nigeria, as we shall no long condole the reckless killings and shedding of blood of Igbo sons and daughters in whatever name. The “Igbo Political Summit - 2014”: 4. The Council has also fixed October 2014 as date for the “Igbo Political Summit”, on the above, a (14-man) Fourteen Planning / Organizing Committee has been inaugurated for that purpose. Signed: Chilos Godsent Comrade Zulu Ofoelu Nat. President – INC National Secretary - INC 07037997507 08032620750
