The thousands of Christians in Iraq and the victims of the Ebola virus in Africa are weighing heavily on my mind this evening. As we sit so comfortable in our air conditioned homes with plenty to eat and watch our TVs and sleep in our soft warm beds tonight, may we remember that we are the brothers and sisters of those suffering in those distant lands. These atrocities could very well be on our own doorstep tomorrow...would you welcome their prayers for you if your roles were reversed? Would you shed tears of gratitude if they shared with you their food and medications? Would you be joyous to see their troops march in to insure your safety and that of your children? Perhaps we will never completely agree on what should and should not be done by our government, military and medical community in such situations...but I know we can not stand idly by.
