The thread i wanted to post this on is deleted because the dog was found. This is for EVERYONE. If your pets are micro chipped, pick up the phone and call the micro chip company NOW. Verify that all the contact information is correct, and every thing is spelled correctly. Be sure they have your name spelled correctly, and AT LEAST 2 phone numbers to reach you, your address (street spelled correctly), and an email address for you. PLUS give them an alternate contact person, their phone, their address, and their email. The more ways there are to contact you the better chance you will have to get your pet back home SOONER. I spend hours and sometimes DAYS trying to track people who do not register their chips, or who do not contact the chip company when they change their phone number &/or address. Dont let this happen to you. ALSO .. EVERY time you take your pet to the vet, ask them to scan for the chip to be sure it is still where it should be. IF the chip is not implanted into the muscle, it CAN sometimes migrate inside the pets body making it hard to locate. I personally have a good friend whos dog has a chip in her LEG because it moved there, because it was implanted under the skin rather than into the muscle. ... IF you find that your pets chip has moved too far from the shoulder area PLEASE consider getting an additional chip. The life you save could be YOUR pets life.
