The time has come to re-evaluate my life. To take a good look at the people in my life both constant and occasional, directly and indirectly. To take a clearer look at what I really want and put the effort into getting that....To finally start truly treating people the way they treat me and not feeling guilty for it because of my own moral compass. I have always despised selfish people whether they are the kind that want to help because they expect something in return or the kind that will help you if the end result will benefit them. The kind that consider what they want before what the people in their immediate family needs. The kind that justify hurting people, saying hateful things or even threatening some sort of if to benefit themselves. Because of this, I have been TOO fair with people, TOO appreciative of people. I am far from naive and am not implying that I have been taken advantage of because I didnt know any better, I am just saying that because I try to treat people the way I want to be treated, I have allowed people to take too much along the way. I am far from perfect but I have always been the kind that will do ANYTHING to help those in my life that I care about without hesitation. If I call you a true friend, you can count on me NO MATTER WHAT. Yes, I guess a tiny bit of selfishness is ok and even healthy and I think it is my turn to focus on me.
