The tournament season is winding down, but Legend Kung Fu students have shown no signs of slowing down their strong performances! Coming out of the NCCAF tournament, we saw 12 students take the floor, with five students competing for their first time! Our students may not be aware of it, but each competitor I witnessed met the challenge of competition with the composure of champions. The best competitors always carry themselves similarly, win or lose. They enter the ring with confidence and take control of the space. Then, in each movement, there is only focus and purpose. They eliminate all doubts, all concerns about what or who is outside the ring. If ever they fall, the best competitors recover immediately, and any observer questions whether or not the fall was on purpose. And behind the eyes of these competitors, no matter how many sets they’ve performed, there will only be fire and resolve. Achieving this mentality, in and out of competition, is a demanding endeavor. At Legend Kung Fu, we set all students on this path. We hope that all of our students continue to follow. In the face of competition, these 12 students showed they were well on their way to achieving the composure of champions. For them, we have pride and respect.
