The tropical depression east of the country will likely enter the countrys area of responsibility Tuesday, the government weather bureau said Monday. Jori Loiz, senior weather forecaster of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), said the tropical depression east of Visayas will be locally named Vinta once it enters the countrys area of responsibility this Tuesday. It will be the 22nd tropical cyclone this year, and the 5th to enter PAR this month. As of Monday, the weather disturbance is still too far to have an immediate effect on any part of the country. It was located at 1,380 kilometers (km) east of Visayas with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph). It is forecast to move northwest at 20 kph. PAGASA said the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Palawan and Mindanao will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms. Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or hanging amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Bicol Region. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.
