The two-day Open Day event this weekend at the Lancashire Police - TopicsExpress

The two-day Open Day event this weekend at the Lancashire Police Headquarters in Hutton was a huge success. There was over 8,000 people at the event each day and I think we must have seen all of them! As usual where we were was full of curious onlookers many of which got up-close and personal with the majority of our animals. The event has been revived after a few years of dormancy and it seems that the success of this years event may have instigated plans for another similar event to happen next year. A big Thank You to the club members who attended this event and a special Thank You also goes out to Amber, Cara, Amy, Joseph and Jordan (Volunteer Police Cadets) and Mike who helped us out today. In addition to the above we were also in attendance today at an Open Day for the RSPCA centre in Souhport. This was our first event at Southports refurbished RSPCA centre and we, once again, managed to pack out where we were with our animals and the ever curious general public. Making its first appearance for the club was Calypso the Antilles Pink Toe tarantula and whilst she may of spent all day hiding in her web she still managed to put the fear of God into a few members of the public! (Well done Calypso!) Needless to say we were packed out with excited onlookers and remained that way all day with only the occasional dog show distracting the publics attention for a few moments allowing us time to exhale and the animals time to regain composure. A big Thank You to the members that attended this event and to Calypso for doing her bit!
