The two most important pieces in our rescue puzzle (not including - TopicsExpress

The two most important pieces in our rescue puzzle (not including adopters of course) are FOSTERS and MONEY. We must have both if we want to save more lives. Today we NEED FIVE FOSTER HOMES to volunteer in NJ, because today we received an urgent plea late in the day to save the lives of several young pups who had been exposed to parvo virus. They were scheduled to be euthanized if not removed from the building by 5pm. At 4:30 our local volunteer Michelle was on site doing an in-person temperament test. The four remaining dogs without rescue are now SAFE with Home Free. In addition, there was one pregnant dog, Susie, a staff favorite - very sweet and good with other dogs. She is also SAFE with Home Free. The catch is that they are in boarding at the vet during their quarantine period and/or until we can find fosters. We need funds to pay for that boarding at $10 per dog per day. Theres more. We need funds to have them properly vetted. The pups will need to be monitored by our vets while they wait out their parvo quarantine, and mama Susie will need an x-ray to see how many pups we should expect. We will need additional funds to transport all of these babies and mama to NJ. When the funding is readily available, we have the luxury of making these last-minute saves. When money is tight, we have to stop and think...Will we be able to pay for the overnight board while our fosters regroup? Will we be able to afford to have these puppies get a fecal test and be dewormed coming out of the shelter? Will we be able to provide all of the milk supplement, puppy food, toys, wee wee pads, paper towels and disinfectant and all the other supplies needed to care for a litter of puppies? Will we be able to front the money to transport mama Susie since she wont be able to be adopted for at least eight more weeks after her pups are born? So the answer is up to you. Will the funds be available? If you want to help, please donate via our website: homefreeanimalrescue/volunteer-donate/ or via Paypal to HomeFreeAnimalRescue@gmail. Please reference parvo pups and/or Mama Susie. If you prefer, you may donate directly to our vet by calling Pat at Wade Hampton Veterinary Clinic for the HFAR bill (864) 244-1658, or by ordering supplies through our Amazon Wish List amazon/gp/registry/wishlist/XMY307Y4UCNM.
