The unfortunate case of mistaken identity: Names will not be used to protect the silly and hard headed! Last year I went to a local auction that only occasionally has horses. I was approached by the nephew of an acquaintance of mine who told me he had a baby Clydesdale that he was selling. He said he got it from another auction for only $50 and he couldnt believe no one else bid on it. He informed me that people must not have realized that was the horse bring auctioned. He was sure he was going to make a fortune. So, I go with him to the livestock pens. What I saw was a 7-8 year old pony with a little bit of long hair on his fetlocks. Um...wow. I looked at him rather incredulously. He told me he was sure it was a baby, just look at his teeth. I did look at his teeth, definitely NOT the teeth of any breed of baby. I told him as gently as I could the many, many reasons it was NOT the baby Clydesdale that he thought it was. His response was that I was just jealous because he got it so cheap. Yeah, that was it...sure. So then he started insulting me for anything he could think of, down to the boots on my feet. Whatever dude. Of course, this was about the same time that other people came over and said, look, a pony! Lol! I didnt stay to watch it be auctioned off. I wonder if the breed mysteriously changed by then... So, whats your silly non-draft person story? Not to be mean, mind you, but people do day some silly stuff!
