The update: So today we moved Los Campos and hope to reopen next Friday. 2 weeks ago we finally discovered why we were having a hard time getting any kind of permit for our place. The woman we rented the house from is not the administrator of that estate, her sister is. We were told very plainly at the municipal level that unless we produced a new lease with her sister we would never receive a license. Our landlords solution? To draw up a fake contract and forge her sisters signature. So we were in the middle of a family battle over their grandparents home. That was the last straw. We called the staff together and told them we wanted to move and to start looking. We found a new restaurant spot in two days and a new home in three. The new spot is a better location at one third the rent and comes with a liquor license. We moved everything this morning. And thanks to the support of our families and staff it looks like we will be able to pull through. A few more early mornings and Los Campos will be reborn. Lawyers are involved now to try and recoup some of the cash we had put into the other place. Onwards and upwards. One thing about business in Mexico, it is never boring.
