The upper endoscopy I had this morning indicates that my problems have been caused by gastroparesis (a complication of diabetes). My stomach does not empty all the way and the food does not digest properly. Its nice to have a diagnosis, and there is medication that I will be taking, The condition is not curable, but I will have some relief. In July I began my 48th year of being a Type 1 diabetic. My doctors and I continue to be amazed that I have not suffered some of the more debilitating complications common to diabetes. So I have much for which to be grateful. And my motto has not changed (Ill probably be saying it on my death bed) - Life is Good!
