The very first biography I ever read was in a dusty, old hardcover - TopicsExpress

The very first biography I ever read was in a dusty, old hardcover of Readers Digest. The study had them all, or so I thought: A - Z, with three different sets of Rs. Before I discovered the internet they were my encyclopedae. And there I found Johann Strauss Sr. I inevitably read up on Johan Strauss the second, third, Josef Strauss, and Eduard Strauss. But, through out, I could not for the life of me imagine properly what a waltz or a quadrille were. I had a vague idea at 5 years what a polka was but just barely. The books were descriptive - and to this day I regret not reading them all - however, they never could describe a waltz, Viennese or otherwise, so that I could understand. So, the first thing I found on my own on the internet, when I was roughly 6 or 7, was an audio file of The Blue Danube Waltz. I listened again and again and fell asleep to it more than once. https://youtube/watch?v=LmsIGxYHelQ
