The violence that flared up in Ferguson last night, in Missouri, is a great tragedy.. what I dont understand is why didnt grand Jury agree to let this case of the killing of an unarmed black teenager proceed to trial ? If there isnt enough evidence to convict, and if the policeman was correct to shoot as he did, that would have come out at the trial, but by denying the relatives their chance for justice it just stokes violent resentment. On the other hand, agitating violently for justice, and committing acts of injustice doesnt achieve the goal either, which is to get to the truth of what happened originally. Violence only begets violence. Better than protesting violently , the local community should organise their own investigation and hearing into what happened in this case.
