The viscera of a deer or a hog was referred to as umbles. This usually comprised the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, etc... These parts were then minced and baked into a pie which was served to the lower class of people under the name of Umble Pie. Being served umble pie or eating umble pie was debasing and humiliating. This later evolved into our present day humiliation; to eat Humble Pie. This saying came to mind a few days ago. On June 30th, the Egyptian people took to the streets in the millions, the military forces responded and a dangerous tyrant clown was removed. After a great deal of heated rhetoric, navy maneuvers and air-craft carriers heading for our sea ports; After withdrawal of jet fighter deals and military spare parts; After much threatening and saber rattling by the McCain clowns of the world and their Turkish minions, when the Ashton orient shuttle finally retired, ..........the Egyptian people stood firmly in support of their decision and their leaders, against all odds. The result?? A Congressional delegation, including members of the Appropriation Committee, the guys and gals who dish out the funds or withhold them, come-a-visiting!! Not only that, but the cherry on the icing, former presidential candidate turned top diplomat turned middle east pacifier Mr. John Kerry shows up at the doorstep uninvited, hat in hand, saying Hey guys whats-a-matter with you? You didnt believe all that shit we said now, did ya? The top guy was having a rough time on the hill with his health bill, he was quitting smoking, Michelle was giving him hell over the Syria fiasco and he just had one too many. Cmon guys, you wont let a few bumps and a family spat rock the boat, will ya? The Reds and the Chinks are having a field day!! Give us a break, open the door, its freezing cold out here, lets get back in bed and forget the whole thing, huh?? If this isnt a very generous serving of Humble Pie, I do not know what is.!!
