The weather will get warmer into the weekend with afternoon highs - TopicsExpress

The weather will get warmer into the weekend with afternoon highs reaching the middle 80s Saturday and Sunday. We are tracking a developing storm system that could bring significant severe weather to the Tennessee Valley throughout the day on Monday and Tuesday. At this time we are too far out to be specific on the times of day and or how many rounds of showers and thunderstorms would could see. Confidence is high that we will see significant rain. Rainfall totals will likely exceed three inches in most locations. Some locations could see higher amounts and flash flooding Monday night into Tuesday morning. It is unclear if we will see supercell type thunderstorms, if we do, that will increase the chance for strong tornadoes and large hail. It’s possible the storms could form in lines and clusters. If that is the case the most likely threat would be from damaging winds and the heavy rain. Be prepared for changes in strength and timing with this developing storm system. Remain weather alert into the weekend. We will keep you up to date on this developing threat on air, on line and on your mobile. Brad Travis Chief Meteorologist WAFF 48 Storm Team We Track Storms
