The wedding dress issue has not gone away. It has gotten worse, and has started to impact our Destination Wedding Industry. A meeting with all concerned, the Minister for Tourism, the Collector of Customs, the Department of Tourism, CITA and the wedding planners is over-due...please! A clear statement, an acceptable policy for VISITING brides coming in with their wedding dresses (and leaving with their wedding dresses, ) MUST be made ASAP. Thousands of dollars are spent each year by the DOT and wedding companies to promote a stress free wedding in the Cayman Islands. We MUST protect the livelihoods of the hundreds of people involved in delivering a quality wedding event for our guests...after all, couples have many Destination Wedding locations to choose from.
