The week ending August 27th News – * The Australian launch of the PS4 is all but set in stone. The console will launch on November 29th, will cost $550 and will include a headset. The big exclusives launching with the console include Killzone Shadow Fall, Drive Club and Knack * The launch of the Xbox One is a little less clear, but it will be arriving some time in November, will cost $600 and will include a headset and Kinect. The big exclusives at launch include Dead Rising 3, Forza 5, Ryse and Killer Instinct. * Fable Legends has been announced as an Xbox One exclusive. Fable Legends will have up to 5 person multiplayer with four people controlling the heroes and another controlling placement of enemies and traps. No release date is available as of yet. * In surprising news the upcoming Elder Scrolls Online will be subscription based, forcing players to purchase the game and then pay a monthly subscription fee. * Despite the Kinect no longer being required for use of the Xbox One, a Microsoft rep has gone on record saying that the Kinect is part of the Xbox One and they will never release a Kinectless version of the Xbox One. * Microsoft is continuing it’s large push to get indie developers back on board by further relaxing certification processes and offering free dev kits for developers. * Target has leaked an advertisement about a Zelda Wii U bundle. The bundle includes a deluxe Wii U, Wind Waker HD and a special Zelda print Gamepad. The advertisement has since been taken offline but is expected to be announced soon. Did you know – * Whilst the Wii is viewed by many as the fastest selling console of all time, the PS2 had two separate periods where it was selling faster than the Wii did during it’s peak. * It took almost 3 full years until the PS3 was selling at a faster pace than the (by that time) 7 year old PS2.
