The wife and I have been trying eat less chain food and experience the local cuisine when we go out to dinner. Just went to Los Taquitos for dinner after reading some positive reviews and learning it had been featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. To sum up our experience, I was extremely disappointed. Portion sides were rather small considering the price of their food. Its more a take out joint with sit down menu prices, except no free chips and salsa. Probably an isolated incident, but my beans were lukewarm to the point that the cheese they sprinkled on the them was still cold and not melting. I think Im done looking for Mexican food in Arizona as we apparently disagree on how Mexican food should taste. Can it really be that different only one state removed from what I grew up eating?
