The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them and the desert will rejoice and blossom as the rose. It will blossom abundantly and rejoice even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the excellency of Carmel and the Rose of Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord the excellency of the Lord our God. Strengthen the weak hands and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who have a fearful heart, "Be strong and do not fear." Behold our God will come with vengeance with the repayment of God: He will come and save you. The eyes of the blind shall be opened and the ears of the deaf ears unstopped. The lame shall leap like a deer and the dumb shall burst into singing. Streams shall burst out of the ground in the wilderness and water the desert. The parched ground shall become a pool and the thirsty land will spring up with water, there shall be grass, reeds and bushes. A highway will cross the desert and no meat-eating beast shall cross it. This road will be called "The Highway of Holiness." No unclean thing shall pass over it but it shall be for those that are pure. Whoever walks this road shall not go astray, for the redeemed of the Lord shall walk there. And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to the New Jerusalem with singing and everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness and sorrow and sighing shall be no more.
