The wind was howling out of the North across the greens of Red Cliffs today but the mercury still managed to rise to a pleasant 26 degrees. With locals mostly busy with Vets pennant only 8 teams took to the rinks today. Three bowls triples was the format of play today over three games of 8 ends, played to the points system. The winner of the incentive today was: Maurie Press Snr, Deane Makin (Serviceton) & Bev Makin (Serviceton) with a total of 5 shots up in the last game. Two sides were vying for 2nd place each with 2 games won. Finishing in 3rd place: David Foy (Beaufort), Ed Fitter (Millicent) & Maureen Fitter (Millicent) on 112 1/2 points. Runners Up: Garry Holmes (Irymple), Lorraine Millwall (Irymple) & George Millwall (Irymple) on 114 1/2 points. The winners of the day were the only team to win all 3 games & also handed out 2 clean sheets to their opponents on the way were: John Heaver (Mt Gambier), Marika Heaver (Mt Gambier) & John Cecchi. Tomorrow is the last day of our spring carnival, which concludes with a pairs medley event starting at midday.
