The word "world" comes from the Greek word "Cosmos" which means the values, beliefs, practices and systems that rule the time and place that we live in. There are systems, values, beliefs and practices that govern the earth and these systems, values and beliefs shape the way we think, speak, our attitudes and operations. CON - means within form, something that gives a shape. Paul days do not be conformed. To be conformed means to be set within a MOLD, to act in accordance with prevailing standards, norms and practices. So, conforming to this world means to take the shape or the mold of the systems, patterns, values, beliefs that govern the world.
