The words of the Nazarene Carpenter to the Rich Fool give me - TopicsExpress

The words of the Nazarene Carpenter to the Rich Fool give me pause... They cause me to consider carefully how I invest the time That Hashem has Blessed me with... As I age (and I am aging) I find myself concerned not with those things that will most surely fade away and crumble, but with those things that allow the Grace of G-d to shine through me into anothers oppressive darkness... I ponder slowly and deeply the words of the Prophet Amos to his people: ...I want nothing to do with your religion projects, your pretentious (self-serving) slogans and goals... Ive had all I can take of your noisy ego music...Do you know what I want? I want Justice-oceans of it... I want Fairness-rivers of it... I contemplate the words of Isaiah as well... ...What I am interested in seeing you do is to share your food with the hungry, Inviting the homeless poor into your homes... Putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad... G-d deliver me from being unnecessarily hindered by the obsessions of those who stand by what they perceive to be THE Path, wagging both finger and tongue... Gracious Sovereign give us the Strength and Courage to be the answer to plaintiff cry of the Hungry for Bread... The Thirsty for Water... To heed the Cry of the Unloved to be taken to our Bosom... Blessed Art Thou My G-d, My King... Blessed Art Thou...
