The world has changed - but politicians have not. As the news report link below shows us - Al Qaeda now plans to target the strategic oil chokepoints through which more than 50% of our oil is supplied - We are a single terrorist attack away from a disaster that would make the recent and brutally tragic Sydney siege attack look mild by comparison. Coles and Woolworths would have no food 3 days into an oil shock - people would starve - it wouldnt matter whether you have a car, bike or simply walk - there would just be no food to buy - and that would only be the start of your problems. How would you get to work or go to the Doctor, You wouldnt even be able to buy medicines at the Chemist - because they would have nothing as well ! How would kids and teachers get to schools, Ambulances get to Hospitals, Fire trucks get to fires? But if governments chose to think about people instead of oil companies - CNG fuel could easily make us safe, allowing us to buy food and function normally. So WHY is this risky situation allowed to happen in a country that is rich in alternative fuels? Is this because Australian governments are far too close to Big Oil choosing to care more about ensuring oil company profits and their monopoly market structure than the security and welfare of the citizens that they are meant to protect and represent ? https://youtube/watch?v=SL-P5-Uu3D0
