“The wound is the place where the Light enters you...” Rumi (1207-1273) Persian poet, jurist and Sufi mystic. His followers founded the Mevlevi Order (Whirling Dervishes) advocating tolerance, positive reasoning, goodness, charity and awareness through love (the astrolabe of Gods mysteries). Rumi’s visions, words, and life teach us how to reach inner peace and happiness so we can finally stop the continual stream of hostility and hatred and achieve true global peace and harmony. His life and transformation provide true testimony and proof that people of all religions and backgrounds can live together in peace and harmony. Rumi believed passionately in the use of music, poetry and dance as a path for reaching God. His peaceful and tolerant teaching has appealed to people of all sects and creeds. His book Mathnawi remains one of the purest literary glories of Persia and the Persian language. In 2007, he was described as the most popular poet in America.
