Zec 3:1 The verse above is one of many that details describes Satans nature, plan or purpose. In 1 Peter 5:8, we read that Satan is compared to a lion, one that roams the earth seeking those he can devour..... Devour, also means to drink down and swallow. If this isnt descriptive of Satans work I dont know what is. Because hell not only try to devour you, hell try to drink the life from you. Thank-you Jesus that You have overcome the world, You have overcome Satan! The fact that he roams the earth is seen in the book Job, Satan, when asked of God, admits that he was roaming to and fro, back and forth on the earth. And God asks, have you considered my servant Job (Job 1:5-8). The word considered means to put, lay ones hands on. And in some circumstances it means to in a violent manner. Have you ever heard someone say...wait till I get my hands on you? They say it with the emotion and desire to inflict harm on the person they want to get. Theres no difference with our enemy. In Zec 3:1, Satan desires to oppose or accuse the high priest and his plan hasnt changed. We know he stands before God accusing us before God night and day (Rev 12:10). Doubt, depression are tools he uses against you and myself. Hell put a thought in your mind and accuse you for that idea. Hell make you think that the desire you have to serve God is not sincere. Satan will ry to condemn you and make you feel guilty, but theres power in the word of God, because we know there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, for those who walk after the Spirit and not the flesh (Rom. 8:1). And on those moments when you sin.... yep, hes there to accuse you for that. I thank God for Jesus, because Hes my, Hes your Advocate that represents our case to God.
