Theology Discussion--of-the-Day: (no. 1). From Rufus Jones, an early 20th century Quaker. Discuss. (I both agree and disagree with parts, and am interested to see how others take to it). The very basic assumption that the way of human salvation can be put into a fixed and unchanging formulation and can be passed on from everlasting to everlasting in static form dooms it to become, on the part of those who accept it, a thing taken for granted on a basis of authority and assented to without much release of inner energy.” -The Later Period of Quakerism.
