Theoretical physicists spend a lot of time thinking about the nature of the universe. They question whether our reality is spatially finite. They remind us that sunrises are an illusion created by the earths atmosphere. They gleefully proclaim that starlight is actually revealed to us through a time machine created by the laws of physics and that many of those points of light in the night sky are actually ghosts. We live inside unfathomable complexities. We exist in slices of time that are mysterious, awe inspiring, rich with layers upon layers of cosmic depth. And the center of everything rests inside a tiny universe inside the big one. Inside a human mind. You have yours, and I have mine. We have a wonderful ability to transmit little chunks of our universes back and forth between our centers of everything. We have an innate need to do so. All of us on this tiny planet in the middle of an obscure galaxy we have named the Milky Way need to connect. We need to touchfeelexplore outside our tiny universes in the bigger one. It can be overwhelming sometimes. To bite off chunks of the outer universe and try to fit them into the inner universe. We weave worlds in our minds. Create illusions. It is absolutely terrifying to me that we live on a tiny ball of rock with a liquid magma core inside a system of millions of billions of other moving parts. I sometimes cower in fear at how tiny and inconsequential I am. Its especially frightening because I know that Im moving through time and space at 0.2 percent of the speed of light. What if I banged into something else going that fast? Id never get the chance to tell you that you are the center of everything. Im writing it down now. Just in case... - Pen Fist
