There are a lot of students over here who are taking this course for the sake of the certificate. Though, there is nothing wrong in that, I would suggest a few things before the new 2015 session to actually get more out of this: 1) Dont aim for the certificate, aim for knowledge. Knowledge of C language is really going to be a huge boon for an amazing CS career. So, focus on learning the concepts and gaining as much knowledge from the course as you can. just forget about the certificate in total and aim to learn more. 2) If it gets exhausting,then take a break. At times, the course material gets overwhelming, so dont stress. Take a break, play some games, watch a movie, take a walk. Stress will never help you to get more productive. 3) Take this course as an art. Programming is an art. When you start your first hello world program consider it as an artwork on an canvas. Pat your back and congratulate yourself for your first masterpiece. 4) Adopt visual learning methodology The most important thing lacks in most people is having fun with the course. Try using visual markers for learning and remembering the concepts. Google about visual markers if the concept is alien to you.
