There are a million demolition bricks (for free) a lot of them whole bricks...if you turn on McCormick and go past the entrance to the Asheville Tourists Baseball stadium. If you take your next left and go around the parking lot for the field where they play frisbee (is on your left) the first turn you could take into a driveway has free bricks from a house is being torn down. Theres a lot pre-smashed on the ground. They do still have mortar on them, but it can be smashed off with a hammer. I cant remember the name of the guy doing demolition, maybe Jeff. But theres enough bricks to build a house (as it was a house) and they are GREAT for pathways, making a cool arch, building your house, outdoor rumsford fireplace, part of your cob oven, flooring to soak up that passive solar sun, retaining walls..heres my little raised garden bed. THEY ARE ALL GOING INTO THE LANDFILL TOMORROW, MONDAY, SO GO AT DAYBREAK AND SEE IF YOU CAN TALK THE DEMO GUY INTO LEAVING THEM ON THE STREET WITH A FREE SIGN!
