There are good people in this world. Ive always known that, but today I got first-hand proof. David M. Bingham is a friend of mine from way back. We met through Jennifer Michelle Babb and Rachel Cox Nieminen. Technically, we werent really friends. Acquaintances would more accurately describe it. Long story short, when I was diagnosed, David checked in on me from time to time (on Facebook). I thought it was so sweet that he said his little girls pray for me specifically at night. That really does give me a sense of peace. And more recently, when I got even more bad news, he continued to check on me. During one of our conversations while I was in the hospital, he asked me if there was anything he could do for my family. I knew David is a pilot, but it is quite hard to have the guts to ask someone you barely knew (twenty-five years ago) to take you and your kids on a plane ride. But guess what?? That is exactly what he offered to do. Before I even had the chance to. So this afternoon, at 1:00 p.m., my kids and I boarded the cutest little blue & white plane youve ever seen. The kids were beside themselves, as was I. Just a few minutes after takeoff, we find ourselves flying over Jugfork. When I finally located the house, I saw Brad, I saw our dog, Jake, bouncing across the yard. How cool is that?? Well, let me tell you......its pretty cool. And just how many cool points do you think I got on my Mom Card today? I dont think the card will hold any more points. Again, long story short (yeah, right), yall know I cant do short stories!! I need to thank David Bingham profusely, immensely......just a big ol THANK YOU and also one to his wife, Kimberly Saxon Bingham, for being the type of woman to (for lack of a better word, share) her husband in that manner. I appreciate this gift more than you will ever know. My kids will always have this special gift, and at ages 6 and 7, I feel like it will stay with them forever.
