There are many many globally relevant things many University students in Ghana(mostly private Universities) and throughout Africa are not learning simply because their professors have not been adequately resourced. The curricula is dead, lecture notes are decades old. Where others are well resourced, they simply cannot deliver world class products because they have simply not been wired that well. Not even google seems to be helpful. We have to find a way of creating the next generation of thinkers from within the millions of graduates that are churned out from institutions of decadence and ignorance. There are many great groups that are making up for what professors are failing to teach and they deliver world-class seminars. I have attended a couple of them and IMANI has also led the way in co-organising summer seminars in Universities in Tanzania, South Africa, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria,Uganda and Ghana. The results have been phenomenal. Next Year, IMANI will organise the next biggest educational event in Accra and also start a series of training programmes. We truly want to help and we want to be different. Our courses will be interdisciplinary and globally relevant, so watch out.
