There are many people that I love. Yet, some of those, I choose to love from a distance. You cannot control what your heart feels, but you do control the life you want to live. When you truly love someone, nothing they say or do will ever change that. However, it doesnt mean that you should tolerate less from them than you deserve. Whether it be family, friends or romantic partner; you should always keep your boundaries. If those boundaries have been crossed, especially on more than one occasion, its time to show a little self-respect. If they cant respect you, then respect YOURSELF. Letting them go, may be almost as painful as to the boundaries theyve crossed. Yet, holding on, will only put you under their feet. Only you can make that choice. Whatever you choose, please dont live in the delusion that things will change. If a person shows you their true colors, accept that. So many things can be hidden from the rest of the world, but your feelings and thoughts will stay with you without escape. Thats why I say that there are some that I choose to love from a distance. Of course I never want to see anything bad happen to them and contiguously keep up with them from afar. Yet, from my daily life, Ive cut them out. Deep down, I always hope they will change because I know their potential. However, I accept the fact, that people are who they are. You cant change them, they must change themselves. If I continue to allow their toxins in my life, I will lose myself and become one of them. I know what I want out of life. It isnt money or the finest things. Its respect and true happiness. Although my life has taken me to a different path than them, it doesnt change my love. I wish them the best of luck, while continuing to search for my own. If we cross paths again, in that search, I can and will always be civil. That is called maturity. I may stop for awhile and have a little chat or may only catch a glimpse. In that moment, I may lose myself in the memories and past. Yet, after the moment, I will carry on...until the next time.
