There are moments in your life that you never forget. The Oklahoma - TopicsExpress

There are moments in your life that you never forget. The Oklahoma City bombing, The OJ verdict, 911 and for me, the phone call from my brother Mark, one year ago today, telling me Colin had just died. His voice is so clear and crisp in my head, like he said it to me a moment ago and as hard as I try, I cannot make it go away. I immediately got into my car and headed to his house. My head was screaming with so many thoughts that I honestly dont know how I was able to see, much less drive. And then, I realized the music ... the song ... the words ... and I saw ... it was snowing. Silent Night, Holy Night, all is calm all is bright. These words are all I heard in that moment and I did feel calm and honestly, happy. Sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace. An old song, a new meaning. Forever sad but forever hopeful. We have done some amazing and wonderful things through C4 this past year with the help of this generous community. Colin touched so many peoples lives and this Foundation was my salvation and the thing that has helped me make some sort of sense of losing my beautiful nephew. Colin, today I remember, one year ago, we said good-bye but I see you daily at the craziest of times. There is empowerment that comes with grief and at some point, throughout the journey, you find it. Some of us will be at Nickel Creek tonight to feel close to him and be with Mark. Come for a drink, come to say hi, come to just be with us in the few hours we remember. Now and forever ..... #ColinStrong
