There are numerous Theophonies within the divinely-inspired Hebrew Tanahk (Old Testament) Scriptures : The presence of Yahuwsha Messiah in pre-incarnate form: All the scriptural passages which say, “The Angel of YaHuWaH” speak of Yahuwsha haMashiach in pre-incarnate form. (The word, angel (translated from the Hebrew Malak) means is “ambassador” or “messenger”, not necessarily a rank of heavenly created beings we know as angels). This is what Believers call a “Theophony.” One example in Scripture is Exodus 23:20-21, it speaks of listening to this Angel, not rebelling against Him, and He having the power of forgiveness, and Elohim’s name resides in Him. Genesis 3:8 seems to suggest that Elohim took on a human form to fellowship with His creation. “They heard the voice (the Word of Elohim: Yahuwsha Messiah [see also John chapter 1] of YaHuWaH walking in the cool of the day…” Within Genesis chapter 18, YaHuWaH actually APPEARS to Abraham as an angel / messenger which looked human, like a man, along with two other malakim (angels / messengers). The Torah says that no man can see YaHuWaH and live. However, this is referring to us not being able to see YaHuWaH on His throne in His full glory and power. However, He could be seen.....in the form of an Angel. Now YaHuWaH appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, while he was sitting at the tent door in the heat of the day. When he lifted up his eyes and looked, behold, three men were standing opposite him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them and BOWED HIMSELF to the earth, and said, “O Adonai [Master], if I have found favor in Your sight, do not pass by Your servant. (Genesis 18:1-3) If you notice the context, Abraham bowed down before this Angel (called YaHuWaH). Our Creator never allows anyone to bow down to a regular angel, nor pagan deities. However, He allowed Abraham to bow before this unique Angel (Malak / Messenger), because it WAS Him in preincarnate form. Jacob wrestled with this same Messenger (YaHuWaH) within Gen.32:25-32, and his name was changed to Yisrael. Within Genesis 48:15-17, Jacob equates this Angel as Redeeming Deity, Only Elohim is Deity, so the Angel of the YaHuWaH must be Elohim in the form of an angel, or man. We also see another example where this Angel in the burning bush spoke as Elohim YaHuWaH to the prophet Moses in the wilderness. (Exodus 3:2-7) Within Exodus 23:20, this Angel pardons sin. No regular angels have the power of pardoning sin. Only YaHuWaH our Elohim can do this divine cleansing work and impartation of righteousness. Also, in Judges 13: 1-25 v.22-23, Samson’s parents equate the Angel of the YaHuWaH with YaHuWaH Himself, and think that they will die because they have seen Elohim. It is true that the Scriptures do say no man shall see Elohim (directly) and live, (within Exodus 33:20). However, when YaHuWaH Elohim tempers His Glory by veiling Himself in an Angelic or Man form, one can see Elohim and live. In the Old Testament, Yahuwsha was the Malak (Angel / Messenger) of YaHuWaH, and in the New Testament, He was in another form, as the Son of Man. His power has always remained the same, for He is eternal, and is an expression of YaHuWaH, who created all things, and always existed. Yahuwsha is the arm of YaHuWaHs salvation and bore the iniquities of all mankind to redeem us from our sins, as confirmed within Isaiah chapter 53, and many other passages of divinely-inspired Scripture : Who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of YaHuWaH been revealed?...But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; But YaHuWaH has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him....Yet it was the will of YaHuWaH to crush Him; He has put Him to grief; when You have made His soul an offering for sin....As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, as He will bear their iniquities. He Himself bore the sin of many, and interceded for the transgressors. (YeshaYahuw /Isaiah 53:1,5-6,10a,11,12b) Yahuwsha the Messiah is divine, and is the Creator, etc.,...because He IS in the Abba, who is the Most High Ancient of days, and the Abba is in Him as one EL. They are not three beings in a trinity, but One triune Being with three main Personalities-Expressions-Functions,...with the Ben (Son) and the Ruwach (Spirit) being IN Abba YaHuWaH our Eloah and Elohim. The Tanahk (Old Testament) confirms that the Father had the Son, but that the Son is also the Father, etc.) : Who has ascended into heaven and descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has wrapped the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name or His Sons name? Surely you know! (Mishle/Proverbs 30:4) Pay homage to the Son, or He will be angry and your way will lead to your destruction, for His wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in Him. (Tehillim/Psalms 2:7) For a Child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty EL, Eternal FATHER, Prince of Peace. (YeshaYahu/Isaiah 9:6) Therefore YaHuWaH Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son, and will call Him Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14) The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel (which means EL with us). (Matthew 1:23) But of the Son He says, Your throne, O Elohim, is forever and ever, and the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom. (Hebrews 1:8 & Psalm 45:6) The Son is the image of the invisible Elohim, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-- all things have been created through Him and for Him. He Himself existed before anything else did, and He holds all things together. He is also the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He might come to have first place in everything. For Elohim was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, (Colossians 1:15-19) For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form. (Colossians 2:9) Have the same attitude among yourselves that was also in the Messiah Yahuwsha : Who, being in very nature Elohim, did not consider equality with Elohim something to be used to His own advantage; Instead He emptied Himself by assuming the form of a servant, taking on the likeness of men. He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death-- even to death on a cross. (Philippians 2:5-8) I am the Alpha and the Omega, says YaHuWaH Elohim, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty. (Revelation 1:8) When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades. (Revelation 1:17-18) Yahuwsha the Messiah said to the apostle Yahuwchanan (John) : Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. (Revelation 22:12-13) For there are three that bear witness in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Set-Apart Spirit: and these three are one. (1 John 5:7) IF you notice,...Yahuwsha the Messiah said that we are to baptize others in the Name (which is only ONE Name) of the Father/Son/Spirit : Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (Matthew 28:19) The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel (which means God with us). (Matthew 1:23) He showed you these things so you would know that YaHuWaH is Elohim and there is no other. (Deuteronomy 4:35) Hear, O Yisrael: YaHuWaH is our Elohim; YaHuWaH is one. (Deuteronomy 6:4) I, even I, am YaHuWaH, and there is no savior besides Me. (Isaiah 43:11) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. He was in the beginning with Elohim. All things were created through Him, and apart from Him not one thing was created that has been created. Life was in Him, and that life was the light of men....And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:1-4, 14) Many misunderstand the revelation about Messiah. It is NOT a trinity of three separate Beings-deities,....but instead, it is echad (one) Being manifested in three main ways. Let me show you comparisons : Adam (man) was created in the divine Image and Likeness of YaHuWaH Elohim,....and man is echad (one) being with three main parts, spirit, soul (mind/will/emotions), and body. Also,....everything that is created consists of what at its base element? Atoms. Each atom is echad (one), but with three main parts, electrons, protons, and neutrons. The holy Scriptures oftentimes compare the Spirit of YAH with water. It is an excellent comparison,...because water is cleansing and promotes physical life. H2O (water) is echad (one), but manifests itself in three main forms, as a solid, a liquid, or a gas (vapor). ALL matter has three states, solid, liquid and gaseous. Each element is a single element, but it takes on different forms or manifestations under different conditions. The Scriptures call our Creator as Light. So it is very appropriate that the Visible Light or White Light which we get from the Sun is made of THREE basic colors: Red, Green and Blue. Scientists call them the Primary colors of Light. Our Creator is also oftentimes called (Spiritual) Fire. Within our natural universe, physical fire needs THREE things in order to survive or exist. It needs Heat, Fuel and Oxygen. There are three main dimensions within our universe, mass, space and time. There are three physical forces known to control all interactions in matter: gravitational, electromagnetic and nuclear. There are three main aspects of Time : Past, present and future. All planets have three layers, the core, mantle, and the surface-crust. Scientists say that three astronomical bodies (a star, a planet and a moon) are necessary for Life on Earth. They are the Sun, the Earth and the Moon. Life on Earth inhabits three domains, the sea, the land and the air. It is NOT a pagan trinity,....but a singular unity of One Being manifested in three main ways.
