There are some truths that when you open up to someone about the Kingdom of God, they will utterly reject it due to their hypocritical love they have towards The Lord . There is a hypocritical love where majority claim to love God but only in the limits of their fleshly desires and goals. When Jesus open up the truth of washing the disciples feet , Peter stood strong in opposing these truth . However other disciples had agreed for Jesus to wash their feet, Peter who was to be the leader of the flock refused ! It is dangerous to be a leader and one of your trusted associate oppose your decisions in front of the minors . At that point, Jesus was willing to loose Peter on behalf of the young flocks not to be polluted by his disobedience towards Him. But when Peter saw that Jesus was determined to let him go , he now insisted for his whole body to be washed . There are people like these you will find them in the ministry , due to their hypocritical love towards The Lord they are out for trouble . When Jesus saw that Peter was not in the state of mind to understand what he was doing , He swiftly closed the chapter and moved to something else. When God speaks to you concerning something and you refuse to obey, does not mean He has forgotten , He will just wait for the right moment to open the chapter again . The journey of salvation is a journey with stages you have to pass through and move from one level to one . If you fail to pass stage one, aiming at stage two because you think it is easy there , it doesnt matter how many years it will take , The Lord will return you to the same same thing He spoke to you and you refused to obey . There are some truths I spoke to some people and they literally ran away for they couldnt stand the Word of God , some goes after some time even years and come back and the moment they come up , the Holy Spirit open that truth again on their lives . There is always no short cut with God and if you are willing to serve Him you must die of self and submit to His Divine will for your life . John 13:5-10 Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him. He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?” Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.” Peter said to him, “You shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no share with me.” Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!” Jesus said to him, “The one who has bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet, but is completely clean. And you are clean, but not every one of you.”
